Final Degree Show Logos [Untitled]

Our Final Degree show is coming up where we have to present a piece of our work. The name for the show has been named 'Untitled', and one of the main things that we need to come up with is an identity for the show, and this is to include a logo. These are some simple concepts that i have come up with to name the show.Untitled doesn't really say anything about us as Designers, Artists and Photographers, but this allows us to have our own identity within the show.

This first concept picks out the word 'United' in 'Untitled' to show unity within our creative works and that we have all been able to pull together to create this show.

Many of our files are saved as PDF's, and the common title is Untitled. I have picked out the P as Photography, D for Design, and F as Fine Art.

This concept uses the same methord as above, but instead of the pdf extension I have placed KBDS to stand for Kingsway Buildings Degree Show.

This idea puts Untitled in windings to show that the title is unimportant but the content of the show is what should be looked at.
This last idea looks at the concept of cording off Kingsway Buildings to symbolise that they have been taken over by the Degree Show.

Brook Street Mural

For the last couple of months I have been working to develop a webpage to celebrate the history and regeneration of the Brook Street area of Chester. The basis for the website is the mural that has been developed  to tell the stories of the people in the area. Although not fully complete I have the layout that I require and much of the information in place. Over the next two weeks I will be working hard to complete this project in time for my final degree show. I will keep posting as the site updates, and provide a link when I put the site into the public domain. The artist chosen to develop and paint the mural was Gary Drostle. He has a great reputation for producing murals across the world with his other specialism been mosaic.

Spray Painting

For one of my final modules at university I am required to produce a document showing what I have learnt throughout the year, inspirations and where I want to direct my career. I have taken this as an opportunity to do a bit of experimenting with what to put on the cover, and something that I have never tried is spray painting. So i have taken the time to create a stencil for the typography on this cover and spray through it onto a wooden pallet style background. As can be seen all did not go to plan with the first spray, but happy with the result on the second image. I will be sure to keep you posted on how it looks on the cover.

Bus Tops

Bus tops is the contribution from London for the Artists Taking The Lead programme for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. It consists of 30 LED screens placed on top of bus tops across London to be visible from the top deck of a bus. The screens will be displaying short animations submitted by the public, and selected artists. The responses range from pattern animations, to funny scenes such as 'Do the Breakfast Dance' or animations dealing with bus stop issues. The responses can be viewed at http://bus-tops.com/

Paper Stash

A bit of a weird thing but I have always liked collecting paper and printed material, and when I saw this in the shop the other day it was a must buy. I just loved the grain on the parchment style paper and the rustic effect on the more detailed photographed images. I have also become a bit more experimental with printing techniques this year so the Letterpress type was a bonus for me. As full page photo's I could think of many uses for these images but for now just to put up on the wall and admire will do for me, and will hopefully inspire some of my remaining work at Uni.
